“But who do you say that I am”?
The disciples had just gotten done telling Jesus what everyone thought that he was. Jesus then ask the most important question that could ever be asked, “Who do you say that I am”? Have you ever thought of that? Have you ever answered that question? Who do you say that Jesus is?
There is no better question that could ever be asked and nothing will affect your life as much as how you answer it. If you say that Jesus is another one of the few good guys to dot the landscape of history then you will leave him in the history books only to be revisited on Easter and Christmas. However, if you agree that Jesus is who he says he was, then there are some pretty strong implications to that. That means the kingdom he came from and so commonly spoke of is a real place and that there is only one way to get there. Though some of the things he said might not be pleasant given your life, they must be true and they must not be ignored.
